Cabarrus County, N.C : Motorcylist seriously injured in crash on I-85 in Cabarrus County on Wednesday, April 8, 2015

Northbound Interstate 85 was briefly shut down after a motorcycle crash Wednesday afternoon, according to North Carolina Highway Patrol.

The crash happened at 4:47 p.m. near mile marker 54 near George Liles Parkway.
A medical helicopter was called to the scene. Troopers said it was a single-vehicle accident.
The lanes reopened around 5:15 p.m. after being briefly shut down.
The driver was taken to Carolinas Medical Center Northeast. Troopers said he will likely be taken to CMC-Main with life-threatening injuries.
