WILMINGTON, DE : A Newark man was killed in a crash on Thursday, September 14, 2017

Delaware state police say a Newark man was killed in a crash on Interstate 95 that forced the highway to be closed for most of Thursday morning.

The crash happened around 5:34 a.m. in the southbound lanes where I-95 South merges with I-495 South just north of I-295.

According to investigators, the 44-year-old driver of a Nissan Altima lost control of his vehicle.

The Nissan hit a concrete barrier before spinning around. The Nissan was then struck by a Toyota also travelling southbound.
