Car Crash Kills Tea Party Leader
The president of a North Florida tea party group has been killed in a two-vehicle car crash in Marion County.The Florida Highway Patrol told the Ocala Star-Banner that 70-year-old Stephen Hunter of Sparr died in the Friday night crash. Hunter headed the Ocala Tea Party or Tea Party Solutions for several years.Friends said Hunter was a Vietnam veteran who later worked at defense contractor Lockheed Martin.Troopers said Hunter was attempting to make a left turn on U.S. 441 and apparently did not see an oncoming pickup.Hunter was pronounced dead at the scene. The occupants of the truck were uninjured.
