Frederick, MD : Two people were injured in a Single-car crash at Mount Airy on Saturday, April 16th, 2016
One person was flown to a Baltimore hospital and two people were taken to Frederick Memorial Hospital for medical treatment after a car crashed into a tree in Mount Airy late Saturday afternoon.
The injuries are believed to not be life-threatening, according to Sgt. Scott Blundell, of the Frederick County Sheriff's Office.
Four people, including the driver, were inside the vehicle when it crashed into a tree on Jesse Smith Road off Old National Pike shortly before 6 p.m., Blundell said. Blundell could not provide names, gender, place of residence or other identifying details for the four people as of Saturday night.
One person was flown by Maryland State Police helicopter to the R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center. Two were taken by ambulance to Frederick Memorial Hospital.
Speed is believed to be a factor in the crash, Blundell said.
