The Lawrence man killed in a fatal crash in Chelmsford on Sunday has been identified by the Massachusetts State Police as 22-year-old Emerson Ortega.
Troopers were called to Interstate 495 southbound around 1:30 a.m. Sunday for a report of a single-vehicle crash between Exits 33 and 32 in Chelmsford.
Ortega was driving a 2012 Chevrolet Captiva when the vehicle drifted off the roadway and crashed. Ortega died at the scene. A woman in the vehicle was injured and flown to Massachusetts General Hospital.The crash remains under investigation.
