Fayette, MS : Pedestrian struck and killed by vehicle in Jefferson County on Tuesday, March 1, 2016

A pedestrian was killed while walking in the eastbound lane of MS 552, in Jefferson County, shortly after midnight Tuesday.

The vehicle that struck the pedestrian left the scene of the accident.

Thirty-nine year-old Antonio C. Carter of Natchez was pronounced dead at the scene.

The accident is under investigation.
