Two Henrico County 10th-graders were killed in a car crash in Goochland County over the weekend.

Virginia State Police say at around 11 p.m. on May 18, troopers were called to a single-vehicle crash in the 1200 block of Hockett Road near Tuckahoe Creek Parkway. A memorial was made at the site of the crash and kept growing as families of the victims mourned.

“A 2011 BMW 550i driven by Kyle Alexander Haden, 18, of Henrico, was speeding on Hockett Road when the vehicle lost control, ran off the road to the right and struck a tree,” Virginia State Police said on Monday afternoon.

Two 16-year-old boys died at the scene. Haden was taken to the hospital in critical condition.
