Syracuse,NY : Syracuse police car involved in crash on city's North Side on June, Sunday 4th 2017

First responders are on the scene of a crash involving a Syracuse police car and a civilian car on the city's North Side.

A call came in to the Onondaga County 911 Center at 3:23 p.m. Sunday for a crash with injuries at the intersection of Pond and Carbon streets, dispatch records show.

A Syracuse Police Department patrol car sat at the intersection with heavy front-end damage, while a gold Honda was up over the curb on the sidewalk next to a utility pole. The Honda had visible damage to the front and back ends.

Syracuse police have not commented on how the crash happened or the extent of injuries, however a neighbor told syracuse.com that she saw the police car crash into the car.

Officers at the scene referred all comments to the Syracuse Police Department's public information officer, who could not be reached for comment.

City police, Syracuse firefighters and an American Medical Response ambulance responded to the crash.

Syracuse police photographed the crash scene after the ambulance and firefighters left. The crash remains under investigation.
