Pomona , CA : 36- Years old man killed in Crash while he driving rear-ended a Caltrans truck on a freeway offramp on Thursday afternoon , January 15th 2015

Authorities today identified a Riverside County man who was killed when the car he was driving rear-ended a Caltrans truck on a freeway offramp in Pomona.

The accident on the Fairplex Drive exit from the eastbound San Bernardino (10) Freeway was reported about 2 p.m. Thursday, California Highway Patrol Officer Patrick Kimball said.

Sonny Christopher Diaz, 36, of Palm Desert died at the scene, said coroner’s Assistant Chief Ed Winter.

None of the Caltrans workers was injured in the crash, Kimball said. The Fairplex offramp was closed for a time while an investigation was conducted.
