Bethel, PA : 33-old-year driver in deadly Bethel crash on Route 17B Saturday, August 2, 2014
The man killed in an accident Saturday on Route 17B was identified Monday by the Sullivan County Sheriff's Office as Robert Schenk, 33, of Narrowsburg.
The cause of the accident that injured seven others is still under investigation.
Undersheriff Eric Chaboty said it will take at least a month before authorities receive a toxicology report on Schenk.
Deputies say Schenk's car was heading east when it crossed the double yellow line near Perry Road and struck a van containing seven campers on their way back to Pennsylvania about 8:40 p.m.
The passengers of the van were treated and released from local hospitals.
Chaboty also said the passengers in the camp van struck by the car were cleared of having any substances in their system.
Schenk was not wearing his seat belt at the time of the crash, according to deputies.
