Members of a Loganville family were injured Saturday in a crash when a truck’s tire failed.
The Georgia State Patrol said Scott Sanders Goss’ 2005 Ford F-350 blew its front right tire, causing it to run off the right side of eastbound Interstate 20 in Madison, hit the end of a guardrail, strike a tree then overturn.
As the truck overturned, the truck and camper it was towing became separated.
Goss, 46, was taken to Piedmont Athens Regional Medical Center.
Paramedics had to extract his wife, 45-year-old Rhonda Goss. She was airlifted to WellStar Atlanta Medical Center with serious injuries.
Their 12-year-old son Tyler Goss also sustained serious injuries and was taken to Piedmont Athens Regional by ambulance.
Jacksen Goss, 15, was trapped after being ejected from the truck. Fire and EMS personnel, along with employees of a wrecker service, had to help get the vehicle off him.
He was flown to WellStar Atlanta Medical Center with serious injuries.
Troopers said all occupants of the truck except Jacksen Goss were wearing seat belts.
The crash occurred about a mile east of the U.S. 441 exit in Madison.
The Georgia State Patrol, two EMS companies, Morgan County and Madison fire departments, Morgan County Sheriff’s Office, Madison police and Georgia Department of Transportation Coordinated Highway Assistance and Maintenance Program responded to the scene.
Friends have established a GoFundMe page to raise money for the Goss family’s medical expenses.
