MUNDY TWP, MI : Head-on crash leaves woman dead, one hospitalized on Saturday, December 10th, 2016
One woman is dead and one hospitalized after a head-on crash late Saturday night in Genesee County's Mundy Township.
Ashley Herriman, 34, of Flint was headed north in the 9300 block of Torrey Road around 11 p.m. Dec. 10 when the Pontiac Grand Prix she was driving crossed over the center line and struck a Jeep driven by a 53-year-old Holly woman, according to a preliminary investigation by Mundy Township police.
Herriman was pronounced dead at the scene. The Holly woman was taken to Genesys Regional Medical Center in Grand Blanc Township for treatment and listed in stable condition. She is expected to recover from sustained injuries.
Torrey Road, between Baldwin and Cook roads, was closed for several hours following the fatal accident. Speed and alcohol are not believed to have been factors in the crash. The investigation continues at this time.
Mundy Township police and fire were assisted the scene by a Genesee County Sheriff's Office paramedic and Michigan State Police.
