BRIGHTON TOWNSHIP, MI : 2 dead after crash involving motorcycle, van in Livingston County on Sunday, 7th July 2024

Two people were killed Sunday following a crash involving a motorcycle and a van.

On July 7, at around 6:40 p.m., Michigan State Police (MSP) said a trooper watched two motorcycles riding at high speeds northbound on Old US-23 near Loch Lomond Road in Brighton Township. The motorcycles appeared to be racing.

The trooper then saw one of the motorcycles crash into a Dodge Caravan driven by an 86-year-old woman from Brighton. The woman was turning left onto Loch Lomond Road from southbound Old US-23.

MSP said the motorcycle crashed into the passenger side door of the van, leading to the death of the motorcyclist, who was a 20-year-old man from South Lyon. A 64-year-old Fenton woman who was a passenger in the van also died.
