Harvard, IL : 19-year-old Poplar Grove woman injured after a rollover crash near Harvard on Monday, April 25, 2016

A 19-year-old Poplar Grove woman was taken to an area hospital Monday after a rollover crash near Harvard, police and fire officials said.

The woman was driving a 2004 Pontiac Grand Am east on Route 173 half a mile east of County Line Road when an oncoming vehicle drove into her lane, McHenry County Sheriff's Deputy Aimee Knop said.

She turned her wheel to avoid hitting the other vehicle, sending her into a ditch and field on the south side of the road about 7 a.m., police and fire officials said.

Emergency crews found the woman walking around outside the vehicle, which had rolled at least once, but was sitting upright near the ditch, said Harvard Fire Protection District Battalion Chief Don Davidson.

The woman was taken to Mercy Harvard Hospital with injuries not considered to be life-threatening, Davidson said. No one else was in the vehicle, officials said.

Knop said the woman was wearing a seat belt. Police did not issue any citations.
