A Littleton woman died Wednesday in a single-car crash in Chaffee County involving a stolen car.
The Colorado State Patrol identified the victim as 33-year-old Melissa Jaramillo.
The crash happened at about 6:30 a.m. on County Road 191 about one-half mile south of Colorado 291, the state patrol said in a media release.
A red 1996 BMW 328I sedan was northbound when the driver failed to negotiate a right hand curve. The BMW ran off the road and rolled three times. Jaramillo, who was in the front passenger seat, was not wearing a seat-belt. She was ejected and pronounced dead at the scene.
Three men fled the scene on foot. William Marquez, 34, of Alamosa, was later located, the state patrol said. The two other men have not been found.
The car involved had been reported stolen in Alamosa.
Excessive speed and drugs are considered factors in the crash, which remains under investigation.
