Biker killed in crash after elderly driver pulls pickup into path of motorcycle, FHP says

A DeLand man who was killed after his motorcycle crashed into a pickup in Volusia County was identified Thursday.Kenneth Engelhardt, 43, was ejected from his westbound 2005 Yamaha motorcycle at 7 p.m. Wednesday on New York Avenue after a 2011 Chevy pickup pulled into his path at Grand Avenue.Leo Ashline, 78, of DeLand, was driving southbound on Grand Avenue and stopped at a stop sign before attempting to cross New York Avenue and pulling into the path of the motorcycle, said Florida Highway Patrol Sgt. Kim Montes.
