Four people were taken to a Syracuse hospital Sunday after a two-vehicle crash involving a drunk driver in Hastings, Oswego County County sheriff's deputies said.
Deputies arrested Shannon C. Pangburn, 45, of 371 Pangborn Road in Hastings, and charged him with DWI, drinking alcohol in a motor vehicle on a highway and failure to yield the right of way after the crash at 6:34 p.m. Sunday, according to a police report.
Pangburn was driving a 2011 Dodge west on Ball Road and entered the intersection of U.S. Route 11 in the town of Hastings. That's when deputies say Pangburn's vehicle collided with a southbound 2016 Ford, driven by Bryce K. Pooley, 61, of Woodlawn Drive in Brewerton.
Ambulances took Pangburn and his passenger, Christine M. Halsey, 49, as well as Pooley and his passenger, Nancy H. Pooley, 63, to Upstate University Hospital in Syracuse, deputies said. The extent of their injuries and their conditions were unknown Monday.
