Three people, including two children, were injured in an accident Monday morning.

Munster Police Lt. Ed Strbjak said the accident occurred at 6:45 a.m. and closed a portion of Ridge Road for about 30 minutes.

He said a Honda minivan was headed eastbound on Ridge Road in the area of Highland Place. Strbjak said the vehicle went left of the center line and struck a NIPSCO pole on the north side of the street.

Three people were injured, he said, including at 51-year-old man and two children ages 5 and 9. All three were transported to Community Hospital in Munster.
