ALBUQUERQUE, NM : Auto burglary suspect crashes into NE Albuquerque apartment complex on Monday, 21st January 2019

Police are investigating after a chase for an auto burglary suspect turned into a crash at an apartment complex.

According to police, the suspect attempted to flee from them.

He thought he was in drive, but he was actually in reverse which caused him to hit into an apartment building near Comanche and Carlise.

Fire crews are now on standby waiting for the garage overhand to fall.

Information is limited at this time, but police say one person is in custody and responsible for numerous auto burglaries.

It's unclear how the chase ended at the apartment complex or if the suspect lives nearby.
