Caledonia, WI : Girl killed in pedestrian collision with SUV on Middle Road in Caledonia on Sunday evening, Aug 9, 2015

Police say a girl was struck and killed along a road in Caledonia.

Authorities said an SUV was northbound on Middle Rd., crossed the center line, traveled across the southbound lane and hit the young pedestrian Sunday evening. The SUV then hit a utility pole, injuring the driver.

Lt. Brian Wall told The Journal Times the SUV driver is in police custody while an investigation is conducted.

Police did not identify the girl who was killed other than to say she was from Caledonia.
