Anderson,SC : Woman killed, man arrested in Anderson Co. hit-and-run on December, Saturday 30th 2017

The S.C. Highway Patrol says a Honea Path man has been charged in a deadly hit-and-run involving a moped.

Troopers say the crash happened in the 13000 block of Highway 20 near Cheddar Rd. around 8:25 p.m. Saturday.

Troopers say the driver of the car hit the moped rider from behind and left the scene.

The Anderson County Coroner’s Office identified the driver of the moped as 44-year-old Ashley Porter of Belton.

Porter died at 7:19 a.m. Sunday due to traumatic brain injury from the crash. The coroner’s office reports that she was not wearing a helmet at the time of the collision.

The South Carolina Highway Patrol located the driver of the car. Troopers say Kenneth Dukes of Honea Path was arrested and faces charges of driving too fast for conditions and leaving the scene of a collision resulting in death.
