Yulee, FL : Two people die in head-on crash in North Florida early Wednesday morning, July 20, 2016

The Florida Highway Patrol said two people are dead following a head-on collision in rural northeast Florida.

According to a news release, 25-year-old Matthew Cisco of Kingsland, Ga., died after his Nissan Maxima crossed the center line on U.S. 17 and hit a Honda Civic early Wednesday morning. The 19-year-old female driver of that vehicle also died in the crash. Her name hasn't been released.

Troopers said the woman from Jacksonville died at the scene. Cisco was taken to hospital in Jacksonville where he was dead on arrival.

An investigation continues.
