Winnebago,IL : Woman, dog injured in I-90 crash in Winnebago County on August, Friday 18th 2017
A woman and dog were injured when a semi rear-ended her car, sparking a rollover crash, this morning on Interstate 90 about a half-mile from Rockton Road.
The crash occurred at 9:45 a.m. near mile marker 2 in the eastbound lanes of I-90, Harlem-Roscoe Fire Battalion Chief Tom Aaker said.
?(The semi) hit the car, went through the embankment and jack-knifed,” he said.
The woman suffered injuries that were not life-threatening, Aaker said, but because of the nature of the crash and because it took almost 30 minutes to cut her from the car, she was airlifted to OSF Saint Anthony Medical Center in Rockford.
A dog, which appeared to be a greyhound mix, was also traveling in the vehicle and fractured two legs in the crash, Aaker said. The driver of the semi wasn’t injured, he said.
