Memphis, TN : Public works employee has died in a tractor accident on Monday August 4th 2014

Officials say a Shelby County public works employee has died in a tractor accident. Twenty-nine year-old Pierre Davis was maneuvering a tractor while cutting grass along a ditch near the Raleigh community on Monday when the tractor flipped over. He died at the scene. Davis was an eight-year employee of Shelby County government. He started in 2006 as a temporary laborer and equipment operator. Davis was hired as a full-time laborer with the Roads and Bridge Bureau in 2011. Director of Public Works Tom Needham said Davis was a faithful employee who took pride in serving the citizens of Shelby County.
