Lee, NY : Two people injured in a single vehicle crash in Oneida County Thursday, July 28, 2016

Deputies responded to Davidson Road in the Town of Lee at around 1 a.m. Thursday for a single vehicle crash, according to the Oneida County Sheriff's Office.

Kelly Sabia, 27, of Taberg, was operating a 2007 Dodge Caliber vehicle northbound on Davidson Road when she allegedly failed to slow down at the dead end portion of the roadway, deputies report.

Because of the speed of Sabia's vehicle, she was unable to stop and struck a ditch, deputies said.

Sabia suffered a laceration to her forehead from hitting the windshield and it was determined that Sabia was not wearing her seat belt at the time of the crash, deputies report. The passenger in the vehicle, Austin Conway, 23, suffered minor injuries to his leg and his facial area also striking the windshield, deputies said.

Conway was also not wearing his seat belt at the time of the crash, deputies report.

Both the driver and passenger were transported to local hospitals by AmCare Ambulance, deputies said.

Sabia was issued citations for no seat belt and speed not reasonable and prudent and Conway was issued a citation for no seat belt, deputies report.

Both are set to appear in the Lee Town Court at a later date, deputies said.

The investigation is still underway.

The New York State Police, Lee Center Fire Department and AmCare Ambulance assisted at the scene.
