Greenwood, SC : Jeep flips in a crash on Tuesday, 4th September 2018

One driver was charged with disregarding a traffic signal following a wreck Tuesday morning that left a Jeep on its roof along Highway 72/221, said Lance Cpl. Justin Sutherland with the state Highway Patrol.

Ryan Underwood, 29, of Cross Hill was driving his 2001 Jeep south along Highway 72/221, Sutherland said, when at about 7:55 a.m. he entered the highway’s intersection with Sprott Street. A driver in a 2016 Toyota Camry was headed east on Sprott Street and also entered the intersection, and the two vehicles collided — flipping the Jeep.

Both drivers were wearing seat belts, but Underwood was injured and taken to Self Regional Medical Center for treatment.

Underwood was charged with disregarding a traffic signal, Sutherland said.
