WILEY FORD, WV : A Pennsylvania woman died in a two-vehicle accident on Sunday, August 6, 2017

A Pennsylvania woman died Sunday afternoon in a two-vehicle accident in Wiley Ford.

Lois Brant, 72, of Berlin, was a passenger in a vehicle that was rear-ended on state Route 28, West Virginia State Police said. She was transported by ambulance to Western Maryland Regional Medical Center in Cumberland, where she later died.

Trooper Seth Weakley said Levi Brant, 20, also of Berlin, was driving a 2008 Subaru Impreza south on Route 28 when he stopped to make a left turn on Airport Road. The vehicle was struck from behind by a 2011 Cadillac SRXR driven by Betty Bujac, 85, of Cumberland.

The impact forced Brant's vehicle onto Airport Road, where it came to rest, Weakley said. Bujac's vehicle traveled through the parking lot of the nearby Erie Insurance agency where it struck and knocked over a flag pole.

Levi Brant was uninjured, but another passenger in his vehicle, William Brant, 18, also of Berlin, was transported to the medical center for treatment of non-life threatening injuries, Weakley said. Bujac was also uninjured.

The crash, which occurred just after 2 p.m., remains under investigation.

Wiley Ford, Ridgeley and Short Gap volunteer fire departments responded.
