Staunton, VA : One dead in I-81 crash in Augusta County on Friday night, March 10, 2017

Virginia State Police said one person was killed Friday night in a crash on Interstate 81 in Augusta County near mile marker 219.

A box truck and another vehicle collided in the southbound lanes, police said, killing one. State police are still in the process of notifying next-of-kin.

The cause of the crash, which took place shortly before 10 p.m., remains under investigation.

Additional details should be available later in the day, a police spokesperson said.
