Joliet, IL : Morris woman dies in I-55 crash near Joliet on Thursday, 16th August 2018

A 54-year-old Morris woman died overnight after she was involved in a crash on Interstate 55 near Joliet.

Linda Reynolds, 54, of Morris, was driving a Chrysler Town and Country south on I-55 just after 1 a.m. Thursday when one of her car’s tires blew out, according to a news release from Illinois State Police.

This caused the Chrysler to lose control and strike the median wall, just north of Black road. The vehicle became partially disabled in the left lane, and a 34-year-old Joliet woman driving a Toyota Highlander hit the Chrysler.

Reynolds was pronounced dead on the scene. Both the Joliet woman and a passenger from the Chrysler, a 45-year-old Morris man, were transported to an area hospital with non-life threatening injuries, according to the release.
