Winter Garden, FL : Woman dies after car crashes into retention pond early Sunday morning, November 27, 2016

A woman is dead after her car crashed into a retention pond early Sunday morning in Winter Garden, according to the Winter Garden Police Department.

Police were called to Tilden Road near Tiny Road at Emerald Ridge just be 1 a.m. after a witness saw a car go into a retention pond.

When officers arrived, they were unable to locate any victims due to the car being deep in the pond.

The Orange County Sheriff’s Office and the Orlando Police Department responded with their dive teams to assist the search effort.

Police said Deborah Lynn Williamson was located and transported to Florida Hospital, where she later died.

The car was also located.

The OCSO Marine Unit responded Sunday morning to confirm that there were no additional victims.

Winter Garden police are investigating the cause of the accident.
