Cuyahoga Falls, OH : Police officer seriously injured in crash on Broad Boulevard on Saturday, JULY 23, 2016
A Cuyahoga Falls police officer was seriously injured Saturday after his cruiser was struck on Broad Boulevard by a person who had just crashed into several other vehicles at the police station.
Around 1:18 a.m. a driver entered the police parking lot and ran into parked patrol cars causing significant damage and then fled the scene, officials said.
Officers gave chase but during the pursuit the suspect driver purposely crashed into 11-year veteran Ptl. Ted Davis' vehicle, police said.
Davis sustained serious but non life-threatening injuries. The suspect, who has not been identified, was also transported to the hospital.
Police said Davis was still in the hospital as of Sunday afternoon.
