Motorcyclist ejected off Highway 14 overpass, lands on Columbia California

A Woodland man was ejected off of his motorcycle after he crashed on the state Highway 14 overpass and landed on Interstate 5 just after 12:30 p.m. today.Jarrid B. Moore, 25, was riding his 2000 Yamaha YZ600 south on I-5 and took the exit ramp to state Highway 14 eastbound. He couldn't negotiate the curve to the left and went straight into the cement barrier, said Washington State Patrol Trooper Will Finn. He flipped off his bike and landed on the grassy median that is about 25 to 30 feet below. The motorcycle remained on the overpass.

After Moore landed on the grass, he rolled or bounced onto the paved shoulder, Finn said. He was transported to Legacy Emanuel Medical Center in Portland with a head injury and laceration to the knee.
One responder radioed to dispatch: “We expected the worst and hoped for the best. We have the best.”
The State Patrol is investigating the cause of the crash. Moore was cited for having no driver's license and no motorcycle endorsement.Moore was riding with a group of motorcyclists, including his brother and dad, Finn said. One of his family members removed his motorcycle from the crash site.

Scott Weissbeck, who was driving to work, saw the motorcyclist right after the accident happened. People were looking down at the fallen motorcyclist from the overpass, he said. A man rolled down the grassy embankment to get to Moore, who was lying on the white line of the shoulder.
