VICTORVILLE, CA : Five injured after SUV crashes into Victorville home in the 12900 block of Fourth Avenue on Wednesday, 22nd August 2018

Five people were injured after an SUV they were traveling in crashed into the side of a house here Wednesday evening, authorities said.

The crash occurred at approximately 6:20 p.m. after the SUV reportedly collided with another vehicle at the intersection of Nisqualli Road and Third Avenue. The collision caused the SUV to careen off the roadway, down an embankment and into the side of a home in the 12900 block of Fourth Avenue.

“We had a report of a vehicle accident which ended up being a vehicle into the side of a home,” said San Bernardino County Fire Department Battalion Chief Bill Mahan. “We did get reports initially that we had people trapped, so two truck companies arrived to perform extrication and cut the side of the car apart to get the people out.”

Mahan said two of the people in the SUV were classified as immediate patients due to the severity of their injuries and were transported to local hospitals before being airlifted down the hill to Arrowhead Regional Medical Center and Loma Linda University Medical Center, respectively.

Three other passengers, including a child in a car seat, suffered minor injuries and were transported by ambulance to a local hospital.

The SUV reportedly crashed into the bedroom of a child who lives in the home, but nobody was in the room at the time of the collision.
