A North Carolina woman was critically injured in an accident involving her vehicle and a semi at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at U.S. 50 and State Road 750.
Ann Cutter, 74, Greensboro, North Carolina, was flown by helicopter to Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis for treatment after the accident, said Sgt. Stephen Wheeles, Indiana State Police spokesman.
Trooper Matt Holley said Cutter’s 2008 Toyota Prius was traveling west on U.S. 50 approaching State Road 750 when she entered the intersection in the path of the semi, driven by Carnell V. Barrett II, 27, Mullins, South Carolina. Barrett’s vehicle was traveling southwest on State Road 750 and he was not injured, Wheeles said.
Cutter’s vehicle hit Barrett’s trailer before coming to rest partially under the trailer, Wheeles said.
