Gig Harbor,WA : Head-on wreck in Tacoma sends five to hospitals, including two babies on may, Saturday 27th 2017

Five people, including two infants, were taken to area hospitals following a head-on collision in Tacoma Saturday night.

The crash happened about 7:40 p.m. at the intersection of Portland Avenue East and East 59th Street, Tacoma Police spokeswoman Loretta Cool said.

The infants were taken to Mary Bridge Children’s Hospital for evaluation. The adults were transported to Tacoma General Hospital and Madigan Army Medical Center.

One other adult was not transported.

Cool said the vehicles were traveling in opposite directions on Portland. One vehicle turned in front of the other at 59th Street. It was struck and then hit a light pole.
