PITTSBURG, PA : Motorcyclist in fatal crash on westbound Highway 4 between the Somersville Road and Loveridge Road exits on Monday, 26th August 2019
A motorcyclist killed when he was hit by a big rig on a highway after earlier running into the back of a car has been identified as an Antioch man.
James Woods, 61, of Antioch died at the scene following the 8 a.m. crash on westbound Highway 4 between the Somersville Road and Loveridge Road exits.
According to the California Highway Patrol, Woods rear-ended a Toyota and was ejected onto the highway, leading to the fatal collision.
The crash caused a massive traffic backup. The CHP closed four of five lanes on the highway to investigate, leaving cars at a crawl all the way back to Brentwood.
The lanes re-opened about two hours after the wreck.
