Merrick, NY : 23-year-old Long Island man died in a motorcycle crash in Merrick on Sunday, December 13, 2015

A 23-year-old Long Island man has been killed in a motorcycle accident in Merrick.

Police say Joel McClain, of Freeport, slammed into a sedan making a left turn onto Hewlett Avenue from Sunrise Highway just after 4:30 p.m. Sunday.

McClain was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police say the driver of the sedan and his two female passengers were taken to a local hospital for trauma services.
