ADA, OK : A Checotah man died on Thursday, June 1, 2017

A Checotah man died Thursday morning from injuries suffered in a Tuesday crash, according to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol.

About 6:15 p.m. Stanley Moore, 70, failed to yield from a stop sign on State Highway 3W, about a mile west of Ada in Pontotoc County, and his vehicle was struck by a pickup, according to a patrol report.

Moore died Tuesday morning at an Ada hospital. Summer Butler, a 19-year-old woman in the pickup, died at the scene, troopers said.

The driver of the pickup was treated and released, and two additional passengers in the pickup, ages 26 and 6, were flown to OU Medical Center and stabilized, according to a patrol report.

Only Moore was wearing a seat belt.
