Woman dies in motorcycle crash in Los Angeles

A motorcyclist died early this morning after her bike collided with a vehicle in the Gramercy Park neighborhood.

The victim, a woman in her 40s, was riding southbound on the 8900 block of South Western Avenue with other members of a local motorcycle club when an unidentified northbound car turned left in front of her, Los Angeles Police Department Sgt. John Wilson said.

The collision occurred around 12:50 a.m. Wilson said, and the victim died at a hospital.

Her name was withheld pending notification of next of kin.

No other injuries were immediately reported.
