Marin County ,CA:All lanes of Interstate 580 reopened after UPS truck scraped along the median for hundreds of feet and burst into flames on Friday morning , April 10th 2015

All lanes of Interstate 580 just west of the Richmond-San Rafael Bridge reopened Friday evening after a UPS truck scraped along the median for hundreds of feet and burst into flames early in the day, closing the road in both directions, authorities said.
The UPS tractor towing two trailers caught fire just before 5:30 a.m. near the San Quentin exit, the California Highway Patrol said. The trailers were in the westbound lanes, while the tractor was on top of the center divide and partially into the eastbound lanes, they said.
The forward trailer, which was carrying around 30,000 pounds of household goods, caught fire.
Vehicles were diverted off the freeway onto Main Street, the San Quentin exit, backing up westbound traffic for miles.
The driver of the truck was not under the influence of drugs or alcohol at the time of the crash, the agency said. The CHP inspected the truck and trailers and found no safety violations. An environment cleanup crew was sent to the scene because of the fire and spilled diesel fuel. A Caltrans paving crew repaved the damaged asphalt, the CHP reported.
The driver was not injured in the crash.
