Aiken, SC : Gadsden man identified in fatal accident on I-20 in Aiken County on April, Tuesday 11th 2017

The Aiken County Coroner's Offices has identified the man who was killed this morning after crashing into a tree on Interstate 20 near mile marker 26 in Aiken County.

John A. Davis, 59, of Gadsden, was traveling west on I-20 in a 2006 Honda Ridgeline around 8:53 a.m. when he ran off the left side of the road and struck a tree, said Darryl Ables with the Aiken County Coroner's Office.

Davis died of blunt force injuries, and he was wearing his seatbelt, Ables said.

The South Carolina Highway Patrol is currently investigating the collision.
