Rohrersville, MD : 87-year-old man seriously hurt in Rohrersville crash on Tuesday morning, November 15, 2016
A Rohrersville man was taken to the hospital after he suffered serious injuries in a two-vehicle accident Tuesday morning near the intersection of Md. 67 and Bent Willow Road, Maryland State Police said.
John Woodruff, 87, was taken to Meritus Medical Center near Hagerstown after the 2015 Toyota Prius he was driving turned onto Md. 67 from Bent Willow Road and struck an oncoming 2003 Subaru Legacy, according to a state police news release.
Woodruff was listed in critical condition Tuesday afternoon, a hospital spokeswoman said.
Troopers said the driver of the Subaru, Louis Charles Covey, 69, of Harpers Ferry, W.Va., was not injured.
A state police accident reconstruction team was called to assist with the investigation.
The roadway was closed from about 10:45 a.m. to 1 p.m., police said.
