Lake in the Hills, IL : Waste Management truck involved in 2-vehicle crash in Lake in the Hills on Tuesday, 27th November 2018

A two-vehicle crash Tuesday afternoon caused temporary lane closures on Lakewood Road, police said.

The crash, which involved a Waste Management truck, left no one seriously injured, Lake in the Hills police communications coordinator Ashley Eccles said.

Eccles said the Waste Management truck had been traveling east on Reed Road and preparing to turn onto Lakewood Road when the driver of a second vehicle traveling south on Lakewood Road crashed into the truck.

Eccles said both drivers were released at the scene, but the driver of the second vehicle was cited for disobeying a traffic control device.

Lake in the Hills police reduced lanes at Lakewood Road near Reed Road because of the crash, according to a Nixle alert sent about 2:30 p.m. A second alert about 2:45 p.m. notified residents that all lanes were opened and the road was cleared.
