Richland, WA : Kennewick man dies in collision in West Richland on Sunday, January 22, 2017

One person died in a two vehicle collision at the intersection of West Van Giesen Street and Keene Road near West Richland.

Michael P. Woodall, 28, of Kennewick, was driving north on Keene Road around 2:46 p.m. in a 2003 Toyota Camry, the Washington State Patrol said.

The patrol said Woodall failed to yield to a white Ford F-350 pickup pulling a horse trailer eastbound on West Van Giesen Street. The pickup and Camry struck in the intersection of West Van Giesen and Keene.

Woodall was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the truck, Kathleen Maine, 52, of Riverside, was taken to Kadlec Medical Center in Richland for her injuries, the patrol said.

The collision closed the westbound and turning lane of West Van Giesen Street for about four hours while officers investigated. It re-opened at 7 p.m.
