Westminster, MD : Dump truck crashes in the 1600 block of Manchester Road on Monday, 9th March, 2020

A dump truck crashed, overturned and caught fire in the 1600 block of Manchester Road (Md. 27), sending the 31-year-old driver to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries Monday morning, according to Maryland State Police.
The dump truck veered off the right side of the road and went down an embankment between Manchester and Westminster for unknown reasons, but before the crash, a couple people called 911 earlier that day reporting “erratic driving” by the vehicle, according to Sgt. Jeffery Eyler. Police were called at approximately 8:34 a.m. to the scene, he said. Charges are pending.
The driver got out of the vehicle before police arrived and he was taken to Sinai Hospital, Eyler said. The road was closed temporarily while police and firefighters from Westminster and Manchester responded.
