TEMPLE TERRACE, FL :Trooper hospitalized with minor injuries after car crash in Temple Terrace on Friday, 7th October 2016

A Florida Highway Patrol trooper was hospitalized with minor injuries after a crash with another car Friday, authorities said.

Trooper Anthony Horne was heading west on Fowler Avenue about 6:45 a.m. when a driver of a Dodge sedan turned in front of him at the intersection with Raintree Boulevard, said Sgt. Steve Gaskins, a spokesman for the patrol. Horne's marked Dodge Charger patrol car struck the other Dodge and both cars came to rest near one corner of the intersection.

Horne was taken by ambulance to Florida Hospital and is expected to be okay, Gaskins said.

The other driver, 79-year-old Hazel Louise Burns of Tampa, was cited for violating the right of way.
