DETROIT LAKES, MN : A high-speed chase through Becker County on Saturday, 12th May 2018
An Alexandria, Minn., man was arrested Saturday, May 12, after a high-speed chase through Becker County.
According to a report released by the Becker County Sheriff’s Office:
About 1:48 p.m. Saturday, the sheriff’s office received a report of an erratic driver traveling west on Minnesota Highway 34 near Minnesota Highway 29.
A deputy attempted to stop the vehicle, but the suspect vehicle fled, at times reaching speeds of more than 90 mph.
The vehicle avoided attempts to use deflation devices and at one point while it was traveling on Highway 34, it collided with another vehicle at the intersection of Highway 34 and U.S. Highway 59.
A short while later, an officer used a special driving technique to stop the suspect vehicle and the driver, identified as Christopher Paul Elliot, 33, of Alexandria, was booked into the Becker County Jail for an outstanding warrant for drugs.
Becker County charges of fleeing a police officer and other counts are pending, according to the sheriff’s office.
Elliot was treated for minor injuries, the report said.
