CHARLOTTE, NC : East Charlotte intersection closed after deadly crash on Monday, 9th September 2024

An east Charlotte intersection is shut down after a deadly crash on Monday morning, Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police said.
The wreck happened just before 5 a.m., at Hood Road and Plaza Road Extension.
Police said two vehicles were involved in the crash. Medic said one person died and a second person was treated at the scene.
Officials are asking the public to avoid the area and seek alternate routes. It is unclear how long the intersection will be closed.
