Hopkinsville, KY : An Illinois man was taken to the hospital after a wreck on Thursday, June 8, 2017

An Illinois man was taken to the hospital after a Thursday morning wreck on Fort Campbell Boulevard.

Derek J. Michaels, Illinois, was driving south on Fort Campbell Boulevard when he hit a vehicle in front of him driven by Gary W. Livingston, Oak Grove. The collision caused his vehicle to spin and hit a truck driven by Casey Jones, Clarksville, who was traveling north, said Oak Grove police.

Jones' truck then hit a utility pole that fell and blocked the road, police said.

Michaels was taken to the hospital for injuries. Police said citizens and soldiers gave first aid to Michaels until the ambulance arrived.
