Norwalk, OH : Two young men from Willard killed in crash on Saturday, 24th September 2016

Two 21-year-old Willard men died today following a traffic accident.Troopers with the state Highway Patrol’s Norwalk Post are currently investigating the fatal crash that occurred at 5:20 a.m. on Bullhead Road, just west of Paul Road, in Huron County’s Richmond Township.

Damien Lindsey, 21, of Willard, was driving a 2005 Dodge 2500 pickup truck east on Bullhead Road when the vehicle went off the south side of the road and into the ditch, troopers said. The pickup then came back onto the road and overturned several times before coming to stop on its top in the eastbound lane.

Lindsey and his passenger, Austin Collins, 21, of Willard, were ejected from the truck, troopers said. Neither man had been wearing a seat belt.

Lindsey was pronounced dead at the scene.

Collins was transported by Willard EMS to Mercy Willard Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Troopers said speed was a contributing factor in the crash, which remains under investigation.

Agencies that assisted troopers included Willard Fire and EMS, Clark Brothers Towing and the Huron County Coroner’s Office.
